Can Ch DuMond Celtic Clare

Clare was the lone bitch in a litter of four by Can Ch Frontrunner's Full Monty (Dk Swed Ch Nevedith Veefa Vagabond x Int Ger Dan Wld Ch Honey Honey du Tadjoura) x Can Ch Avalonia All Hallow's Eve (Can Ch Avalonia Wotta Jesta x Eng Can Ch Nevedith Ceefa Ceely). The pedigree for this litter is a tightly linebred one, based primarily on Nevedith Kennels in England and as the photo of the pups in this litter shows, these littermates are all very similar in type and structure.
Clare is a smart, sweet-tempered, moderately-sized blue fawn brindle and white whippet with curves in all the right places. She has the quintessential free-floating whippet movement which has flowed down through her genes. Clare thoroughly made the most of her puppyhood and being in the midst of all things DuMond. As such, it took her awhile to decide to settle down to the business of showing, but once she decided that she liked the spotlight, there was absolutely no stopping her! In fact, Clare's evolution as a show dog took place before my very eyes--I (and several witnesses) literally watched her go from walking around the ring with only her two back legs on the ground during the first two days of the July 2008 shows in Kars, Canada to "getting it" sometime after the second day but before entering the ring on the third day--suffice it to say that in her remaining shows in 2008 she started and finished her Canadian Championship title
with points to spare and went Best of Breed or Best Opposite in Breed in 5 of 7 shows, including several wins over a Specialty Best In Show winning whippet. Since Clare has decided that she loves the show ring, she will be selectively "specialed" in shows in 2009.
