DuMond Dancing Queen ("Geisha") Born: 27 March 2007

Geisha is from our first litter which introduced well-established and moderately-sized American bloodlines to our English/European lines and we are very pleased with the result! Geisha's sire, Can Ch Avalonia Bowmore, is himself a blend of English (Nevedith) lines and American (Sporting Fields) lines. The melding of these lines produced a litter of sweet and sensible whippets. Geisha's dam, our own Can Ch DuMond Ain't Misbehavin', adds a bit of the lovable free-spirit to the mix with her English, French and Danish pedigree and her love of lure coursing and the outdoors. Fortunately for us, Geisha is a sensible free-spirit who loves everyone and who just assumes that every visitor to DuMond came to see her!
Geisha made her debut in the show ring in 2008--but only because I asked her to very nicely! Geisha has since decided that showing is 'not her thing' and she has advised me that she much prefers to be a part of the cheering section--thank you very much--or better yet, she would prefer to spend her days outdoors enjoying the sunshine and watching the world go by. Given Geisha's preference for the great outdoors, we suspect that lure coursing may be more to her liking (we think she takes after her dam and grandsire in that regard). In that spirit, we hope to introduce Geisha to lure coursing in 2009. Geisha has also made her debut in the whelping box in 2009. She was bred to Hemi and on 4 November 2009, their nine (4m, 5f) beautiful puppies were born. To see pictures of this exciting litter, go to the Hemi x Geisha puppy page.
