At DuMond, we breed fairly infrequently and we generally maintain a "waiting list" of individuals and families who have expressed interest in acquiring one of our whippets.  
     Prior to breeding any litter, we spend significant amounts of time thoroughly researching the pedigrees and genetic traits of all of our dogs and any potential mates in an effort to ensure that we are making the best possible match of physical characteristics and temperament.
     Once our puppies are born, we begin contacting those on our waiting list to give them first choice of any available puppies from the litter (in accordance with their noted gender, color, sire/dam, and other stated preferences).  For those still interested in acquiring one of our whippets, we then forward contracts for review and signature and require an initial deposit to "reserve" their puppy.
     Our puppies typically do not leave for their new homes until after 10 weeks of age and after they have received their initial vaccination, microchipping, and veterinary examination/health certificate.  Our puppies are all registered with the AKC (American Kennel Club) prior to leaving for their new homes.

          DuMond Ernest Hemingway  ("Hemi") x DuMond Dancing Queen  ("Geisha")- expected November, 2009
